Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) in Gujarat has recently witnessed significant developments across various sectors:
Semiconductor Manufacturing: On March 5, 2025, the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Tata Electronics Pvt Ltd (TEPL), and Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd (TSMPL) signed a Fiscal Support Agreement (FSA) in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. This agreement facilitates the establishment of India's first commercial semiconductor fabrication unit in Dholera, with an investment exceeding ₹91,000 crore and a production capacity of 50,000 wafer starts per month (WSPM). The Government of India has committed to providing 50% fiscal support for eligible project costs, underscoring its dedication to building a robust semiconductor ecosystem within the country.
Hospitality Sector: In a landmark collaboration, SmartHomes Infrastructure has partnered with Marriott Hotels to introduce Dholera's first 5-star luxury hotel. This venture aims to enhance the city's hospitality landscape, attracting global businesses and offering premium accommodations for tourists, investors, and professionals. The initiative reflects Marriott's confidence in Dholera's potential as a premier destination and signifies a pivotal moment in the city's development.
Infrastructure Development: The state government announced that 95% of the work on Phase 1 of Dholera SIR has been completed. This phase encompasses the development of state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities over an area of 22.54 square kilometers.
